Cross-country Maranza

In total, there are around 30 kilometres of cross-country trails in the Jochtal-Gitschberg region, running across the sunny high plateau of Meransen as well as through the valley floor near Vals. In Meransen, there is a 16-kilometre loop which, with its moderate difficulty level, is also suitable for less experienced skiers. The trail leads from Meransen along the Lobenweg to the Bacherhütte, where you can stop for a well-deserved break.

The trails are suitable for all ability levels and there are cosy places to stop for refreshments at convenient points. A medium-difficulty circular route starts right next to the Jochtal valley station in Vals. The trail is situated at an altitude of 1,350 m, where snow is guaranteed, and offers around 7 km of cross-country skiing fun. The high-altitude trail in Vals, stretching over 10 km, offers a particularly charming route. On the Gitschberg, the Altfasstal trail offers a fantastic view from an altitude of 1,556 m. It offers the ultimate cross-country skiing experience for both beginners and experienced skiers over a distance of around 8 km. To the east of Mühlbach lies the Rodenecker-Lüsner-Alm trail. It is double-tracked and beautifully groomed, with plenty of width for skating over its 15 km length.
